BioShock Infinite Delayed Until February 2013
I’ve got some bad news to report, folks – BioShock Infinite will no longer be arriving this year. Instead, the highly anticipated installment in the BioShock franchise is now planned to be released worldwide on February 26, 2013.
Ken Levine, Creative Director of Irrational Games, stated, “When we announced the release date of BioShock Infinite in March, we felt pretty good about the timing. Since then, we’ve uncovered opportunities to make Infinite into something even more extraordinary. Therefore, to give our talented team the time they need to deliver the best Infinite possible, we’ve decided to move the game’s release to February.”
It’s a blow for many, to be sure, but personally I am rather relieved. In my current state of affairs, my backlog of games to play is rather ridiculous, and this extra time granted for the development of BioShock Infinite allows me a bit of a chance to play catch-up. One negative thing about all this is that, if in fact the Mayans were right about 2012 being the end of the world, then we’re all screwed from experiencing what is destined to be a gaming classic.
Damn.
