Video Dead or Alive 5 Makes an Opening Declaration in New Trailer

DOA5 Opening Declaration

A new trailer for the upcoming fighter Dead or Alive 5, dubbed “Opening Declaration”, has been released by the folks over at Tecmo Koei, and longtime fans should be pleased. From the looks of it, the trailer seems to be what we’ll see as the introductory movie for the game itself, albeit in English. Now I know there are some fans of English dubs out there, but DOA games have always fell flat when dubbed over into English, and this new trailer is certainly no exception. We can only hope that we’ll be able to select the original Japanese audio, as that has always been an option in previous entries.

Familiar faces Helena, Kasumi, Ayane, Ryu, and the rest of the gang are all here, although things certainly feel different now that Itagaki is no longer at the helm. Nowhere is that more apparent than the lack of an Aerosmith song accompanying the intro – some may call it cheesy, but it’s become something of a tradition up to this point and it’s a shame to not see it continue.

I never thought I’d say this, but I miss Aerosmith in my Dead or Alive!
