At the Edmonton Comic and Entertainment Expo this past weekend, BioWare was in attendance to reveal the first major details for their upcoming sequel, Dragon Age III: Inquisition. Mike Laidlaw, Creative Director, spoke highly of the scope of the vaunted sequel, citing greater customization options than were seen in Dragon Age: Origins. The developer also noted other the existence of other creative details, like the ability to control a castle in-game, and claimed that a single level in Dragon Age III: Inquisition will be larger than all of Dragon Age II’s levels.

The team went on to say that, much like Dragon Age II, the protagonist characters are limited to the human race, which may be an interesting move, considering the rocky initial reception fans gave Dragon Age II. Series veteran David Gaider is slated to return as writer for the game, and several previous characters of the series shall be returning with him.

Dragon Age III: Inquistion will be running on the Frostbite 2 Engine, and is so far set to release in Fall 2013, for the Xbox 360, PS3, and PC.
