Me and my best friend had a heated discussion yesterday regarding Bushido Blade and the genre it belongs to. I argued that Bushido Blade is not a fighter but a simulator of some sort. I'm eager to hear what you guys think.

You know it's funny you bring this up because my best friend and I discuss this about every 6 months or so.
I would call it a sort of Action Fighter because of the freedom you are given. The game does only one on one's but then again are Real Samurai Fights are like that.
So if I had to call it something I would say Action/Fighter.

OMGOSH Sion! That's exactly what I said!!! lol. Hmmm...we need more of those. That's what we did agree on.

Bushido Blade a good game for what it did. It was a fighter that gave players freedom like an action game but didn't sacrifice game-play and kept the game realistic yet fun. I acually still have my original PS1 copy of the game, I think I lost the sequel.
My only problem with the game was that it felt short and as something was missing.
Bushido Blade was a good game and my conversations about the game always ends saying that the game deserves a sequel and/or a remake that stays true to the titles core game-play.

There's a game coming out (XBLA) based on the show "World's Deadliest Warriors" that supposedly has similar gameplay to Bushido Blade. I loved Bushido Blade, and I didn't even own it. I just played the demo a billion times. I'm definitely getting this game though if it's rated well.
