Natural Selection 2 To Hatch Early
Fans of Natural Selection, the widely-acclaimed Half Life-mod will be pleased to know that its wide-release sequel is being made available several hours earlier than anticipated. Originally slated to be released at midnight on Halloween (marking a ten-year anniversary since the release of the original mod), the game shall now be made available at 8PM on the East Coast.
That means that anyone who has yet to pre-purchase the game for the Digital Deluxe version has precious few hours left to do so.
The game, developed and published by Unknown Worlds Entertainment, is a hybrid FPS/RPG/RTS that places Marines against various species of invading alien for control of this interesting sci-fi universe. Players be on either side of the conflict, and have to use strategies unique to their station in their faction to be effective in eliminating the other team. The Commander, the RTS portion of the game, are given an overhead view of the conflict and have the power to build defensive structures, collect resources, and provide upgrades for their comrades on the ground. Upgrades are stylized and unique for each faction, like siege cannons and turrets for the Marines, and biological traps and evolution stations for the alien force.
Natural Selection 2 is on Steam for $24.99.
