THE INTERVIEW:
ESG: Just who IS WordSpit?
WordSpit: WordSpit is the Gamer enthusiast , Anime loving, rebel against an un-accepting machine, known as society, MC from East New York, Brooklyn.
ESG: How long have you been a musician?
WordSpit: Music has been in my blood since forever. When I was very young, my father would take me to his studio and I would freestyle all night.
I've known since then I wanted to contirbute to the HipHop culture. I would say it was around 16-17 years of age when I was aware an able to translate my imagination to rhythm and poetry. That's when I started taking it seriously.
ESG: Does your music relate to gamers only?
WordSpit: Even though my music has some gaming elements, I create it to touch more then one audience. Joystick Madness is one of my song that's catered to my gaming brothers/sisters. It's also my tribute to Street Fighter. At the same time, it lets you know, that I will destroy my opponents to win the game of life (check it out).
ESG: What is your motive/inspiration for doing what you do?
WordSpit: I get inspired by so many things, but one of my inspirations is the People. I always want to give them a hundred percent of WordSpit. I want them to know I poured my heart and soul to compose my music for them. I want them to see me at a show and know I left it all on stage. Only by doing that I can say, "We The ILLest".
ESG: Name some or one of your accomplishments made possible by your profession.
WordSpit: In addition to the many websites I am thankful for being featured on, some of my accomplishments would include, Joystick Madness being a featured on Capcom's Website as well as working with McDonald's on a recent TV and Raido campaign. We The ILLest!
ESG: What is the major goal you have set for yourself, being WordSpit?
WordSpit: One of my major goals is to create music with a purpose. I want my music to live in the world, effecting each listener. I want my music to be human. When I say that, I want it to share the emotions we go through everyday.
ESG: I hear you are a huge fan of Street Fighter. Which character would be your weapon of choice?
WordSpit: I loved Street Fighter ever since I was young. I use to spend countless quarters at the arcade quenching my thirst for 8bit destruction. Ryu is my nuclear bomb . I think he is a perfectly balanced character. Plus I always wanted to throw some haudokens. So I guess I live vicariously through him.
ESG: If you had any suggestions regarding the Street Fighter series and Capcom, what would they be?
WordSpit: I think Street Fighter should add a Street Fight mode. Something like Tekken Force. I think it would be fun smashing various goones, while you make your way through the level to bash the end master. Add a storyline to each character in this mission and cow-wa-bunga.
ESG: In your rhymes, you mention that you are pretty bad-ass in SF. Honestly, Is that true?
WordSpit: Yea I would definitely love to think so. "We could meet up at the designated spot, at the designated time, and I will designate that ass for dismemberment". - via Shonuff
ESG: Is WordSpit single? The ladies must know.
WordSpit: WordSpit is definitely single. I won't get in to details but I've been by myself for a while now. I think it's time to find my queen, if that's you hola at me on twitter. Lol
