Receive Free Copy of Donkey Kong With Select eShop Downloads
In an attempt to gain some attention towards their digital download service, Nintendo currently has a promotion underway that gives 3DS owners a free copy of Donkey Kong: Original Edition when they download one of five select titles via the eShop service. The following games are eligible for the promotion:
- Art Academy: Lessons for Everyone!
- Crosswords Plus
- Paper Mario: Sticker Star
- Professor Layton and the Miracle Mask
- Style Savvy: Trendsetters
Now while most would just think that this free edition of Donkey Kong is just the NES edition that everyone has played to death before, they would only be half-right. You see, Donkey Kong: Original Edition is more accurate to the arcade original, as it includes some additional animations seen in the arcade version, as well as including the “Pie Factory/50m” stage which has never been available in the US NES edition of Donkey Kong. For those willing to participate in the promotion, just remember that you need to purchase one of the games mentioned above through the eShop, register for a Club Nintendo account and link that to your Nintendo eShop account by January 6, 2013.
