Video Retro TV Spot For Wreck-It Ralph Pours The Nostalgia

Wreck It Ralph Retro TV Spot

You have to hand it to the folks behind the marketing for Disney’s upcoming animated film Wreck-It Ralph ; they sure know the audience that they are catering to. In another genius move that will surely bring waves of nostalgia to those who were able to experience the glorious arcade era, a retro-themed ad has been released to promote the game within the movie. Now, before you are fooled by the very authentic-looking commercial itself, rest assured that Fix-It Felix, Jr.  was never actually a real arcade game back in the 80s – this commercial was made with the intent to make people believe that this game really existed back then. You can view the retro commercial below, and prepare to be flooded with nostalgic memories of simpler times:

I was already very interested in seeing Wreck-It Ralph  before seeing this ad, but the movie is now an absolute “must see” in my book. Now, Disney needs to be really smart and have this Fix-It Felix, Jr. game released on digital services such as XBLA, PSN and Steam; while the free flash game on the official website is fine, I feel it can be improved upon with a proper, full digital release.

Retro advertising is a beautiful thing, isn’t it?
