D’oh! Many have clamored for this game to be released digitally for quite some time, and Konami has finally answered the call of the gaming masses. Yes, the classic beat ‘em up The Simpsons Arcade Game from 1991 will be arriving for both Xbox LIVE Arcade and PlayStation Network.

Even better news? Xbox LIVE Arcade users will find it available tomorrow (no lies!) for the reasonable price of 800 Microsoft Points, with a PlayStation Network release to follow on Tuesday, February 7. Furthermore, the PSN release will be priced at $9.99, although PlayStation Plus subscribers will be able to get the game for free. It pays to pay, indeed.

There hasn’t been any word from Konami on whether or not the game will be altered in any way, such as the new voice acting heard in the X-Men arcade game released in 2010, although there will be four-player online co-op play, the Japanese version of the game will be available, as well as some unlockables to enhance the game’s already-high replay value.

Time to gather up some friends, grab some pizzas and sodas, and relive the 90s!
