Steam Quakecon Sales For 8-4-2011
The annual Quakecon event is currently taking place over in Dallas, Texas, and to celebrate, Valve is shelling out some major deals over on their Steam platform, with new deals to take place daily until August 7. What’s more, there are some special incentives for people who pre-order RAGE on Steam, as they will receive “The Wingstick”, which is a special in-game item for use in Team Fortress 2. Additionally, for those who purchase Quake 4 during this special sale, they will also receive “The Original” Rocket Launcher item in Team Fortress 2, which is modeled after the Rocket Launcher from the original Quake; this model was then used for the Soldier class in the original Team Fortress, which itself was a mod of the original Quake game.
Today’s deals center on games that made Quakecon famous, such as Doom and Quake, with Quake 4 finally making its Steam debut. There is also a special” Quakecon Pack 2011″ which essentially gives you the entirety of Bethesda and id Software’s back catalog, which is on sale for $69.99 (as opposed to its individual value of $494.66) until August 7.
